Radisson Edwardian hotel group – which includes London’s May Fair - has committed to a four-year government backed marketing initiative with Visit Britain aimed at promoting Britain and creating 50,000 new jobs within the tourism and travel sector.

“With the Royal wedding, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 Olympics, the UK is going to be the hottest travel spot in the world and with 13 hotels located in London and Manchester we are well placed to work with VisitBritain to make the most of this unique opportunity,” said Linda Plant Radisson Edwardian, Director of Marketing.

The campaign was launched by Prime Minister David Cameron, and Jeremy Hunt, Minister for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport and aims to enhance the UK’s position as a world leading destination for international tourism.

Sandie Dawe, chief executive, VisitBritain, said: "The excellent response we have received already shows the huge appetite that British companies have for working together to grow our overseas tourism business.”

“With other founding partners British Airways, P&O, DFDS Seaways and lastminute.com and many more iconic businesses set to join throughout 2011 we will be working to ensure that we provide a platform for a permanent and significant growth in standards throughout the hospitality and leisure industries for the long term good of the UK.”
