The interactive exhibits at the Dapdune Wharf visitor center at the River Wey and Goldaming Navigations tell the story of the River Wey. This 15.5-mile waterway was one of the first in the UK to be made navigable, linking Guildford to Weybridge on the Thames in 1653. The Reliance, a cargo barge which once plied these waters, is open for visiting. On sunny days, hop aboard the Dapdune Belle for a 40-minute trip.

Constructed as a private residence in 1660, Guildford House took the mantle of Guildford Borough Art Gallery in 1959. The gallery's 800-piece Borough Collection includes oils, watercolors, pastels and etchings, as well as an extensive selection of works by John Russell (1745­1806), who was born in Guildford and became renowned for his pastel and oil portraits. More recent additions to the gallery's holdings include modern ceramic, glass and textile pieces by noted Surrey artists.
