To welcome Matilda the Musical to London’s Cambridge Theatre, the Mercer Street Hotel in Covent Garden today launched the ‘Stupendous Afternoon Tea’.
The pre-show afternoon tea, at the hotel’s exclusive Dial Bar, will offer tea-time treats for both young and old, including Honey ham sandwiches, Ludicrously lovely lemon loaf cake, Tremendously Terrific trifle and Fantastic fondue. A selection of traditional scones, sandwiches and teas are also available. In addition, each child will be given a complimentary copy of Roald Dahl’s adored classic to take away with them.
The much-loved novel bursts into life in this brand new musical version by Dennis Kelly and award winning musician and comedian Tim Minchin. The tale follows Matilda, an exceptionally bright young girl with an insatiable appetite for books and reading, who soon discovers she has supernatural powers.
