The Radisson Edwardian Guildford has announced a charity partnership with the locally based children’s hospice service, Shooting Star CHASE.
The hotel will launch the partnership at a special tea party on Wednesday 15 February to which children receiving treatment at the hospice along with their families will be invited. Specially invited celebrity guests are also anticipated to attend the private event including X-Factor winner, Stacey Soloman, publicist to the stars Max Clifford and England rugby captain, Chris Robshaw.
The Guildford hotel has pledged a donation to Shooting Star CHASE from every Queen of Hearts Afternoon Tea sold in its Relish restaurant. In addition the hotel will provide overnight accommodation for families visiting children at Christopher’s, the Guildford-based hospice.
Speaking about the partnership, General Manager Peter Wardley, commented “Shooting Star CHASE provides an extraordinary service that is a lifeline to the many families it supports. As a father I can only imagine the anguish of seeing your child suffer from a life limiting illness. I hope that our support will in some small way help alleviate pressure on the families whose children are under the care of Shooting Star CHASE. It is a remarkable organisation that deserves our support.”
Alex Robinson, Head of Corporate Fundraising for Shooting Star CHASE, added “Shooting Star CHASE is immensely grateful to all its supporters who help contribute £22,000 daily to keep up the services we offer to our families. We are delighted to be working with the Radisson Edwardian Guildford and are grateful for their commitment to the charity throughout 2012.”
