Radisson Blu Edwardian Triumphs At Conference Venue & Supplier Awards Heathrow Hotel Wins “Best Hotel Conference Venue”
The Radisson Blu Edwardian, Heathrow overcame stiff competition to take home the “Best Hotel Conference Venue” award at Friday’s annual Conference Awards. The award was presented to General Manager, Paul Duggan, and Director of Meetings and Events, Nina Quirk at a glittering ceremony held at The Brewery hosted by BAFTA award-winning comedian, Jo Brand.
In a new initiative for 2013, the Conference Awards incorporated categories for venues and suppliers who have excelled in providing a wide range of products and services used by the multi-million pound conference industry.
Entries were judged by a panel of 18 of the industry’s most influential conference and event organisers. The hotel was praised for its recent £10 million refit that includes new high tech bedrooms, plus elegant restaurants and bars as well as its commitment to further technology upgrades making it one of Europe’s largest conference centres with global accessibility as well as one of the most high tech and luxurious venues.
Speaking at the ceremony, Paul Duggan commented, “This is a fantastic accolade and I accept the award on behalf of the whole team at the Radisson Blu Edwardian, Heathrow. It is thanks to their passion, diligence, customer focus and Yes I Can attitude that ensure we deliver above our clients’ expectations time and time again.”
The Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow beat competition from the Millennium Gloucester Hotel & Conference Centre, De Vere Venues (Wokefield Park), Careys Manor Hotel and SenSpa, Whittlebury Hall Conference and Training and Hotel, and the Lancaster London.
The hotel narrowly missed out on a second award – Best New or Refurbished Conference Centre – for which it was shortlisted.
