‘An Eggciting Arrival at the Mercer’ -Introducing ‘Busby’ to the Mercer Street Hotel as part of the Faberge Big Egg Hunt
The hotel launches a dedicated egg menu to welcome ‘Busby’ to Covent Garden The Mercer Street Hotel in Covent Garden, part of Radisson Edwardian Group, today welcomed ‘Busby’, an iconic British guard, as part of The Faberge Big Egg Hunt in aid of Action for Children and Elephant Family.
‘Busby’, Faberge Big Egg Hunt’s signature egg, will take up residence at the front of the hotel, on the avant-garde Seven Dials, for forty days and forty nights until 8th April 2012.
His arrival will be celebrated with the launch of a dedicated egg menu that will offer guests a selection of traditional British dishes including Egg Soldiers, Mini Scotch Eggs and an exclusive Eggs Fabergé dish. Mercer Street Hotel will represent the hunt’s Covent Garden Zone with its unique dish, specially designed by Head Chef Gaurav Budhiraja. The menu will be available in the hotel’s Dial Restaurant throughout the hunt with a donation of every Eggs Fabergé dish sold going to Action for Children and the Elephant Family. Busby will also have his own twitter and facebook page where fans can follow his experiences at the hotel.
Busby is one of over 200 uniquely crafted eggs displayed across key locations in London. The eggs come together to form a national hunt where participants are encouraged to search for the eggs and pick up eggciting clues along the way. The participant who has located the most eggs will win an exclusive Faberge prize. The eggs will then be auctioned off to the public to raise funds for the charities.
The oversized egg is the brainchild of Rachel Waldron, Project Director at the Big Egg Hunt, and is the first egg to be born out of the Faberge Big Egg Hunt. The egg was developed from Rachel’s two loves – cavalry and dipping soldiers in eggs.
Dawn Thomas, General Manager, Mercer Street Hotel commented: “We are very excited about the arrival of Busby at the hotel and believe it will attract huge attention over the next forty days and forty nights.
“Not only is it a privilege to be involved in one of London’s biggest campaigns but we are also supporting two very important charities with Action for Children and Elephant Family."
