Opening September 29 2011, the 490 sq metre state of the art Spa at the Radisson Edwardian Guildford combines visually stunning interiors with exceptional therapists, the latest technology and equipment, new techniques and incomparable products to deliver its mantra – Results, Luxury, You.

With a private entrance adjacent to the stunning glass atrium lobby of the brand new 183 bedroom hotel, the luxurious retreat, featuring warm tones of aubergine and tactile wood, is an urban haven for hotel guests and spa members to be energised, pampered, rejuvenated and indulged.

A team of six therapists and two receptionists will be headed by Radisson Edwardian Spa Manager, Lara Lympaney, who has worked for the international hotel group since 2004.

Under Lympaney’s supervision each product range has been hand selected for their natural ingredients and high performance results, including brands such as Pink’s Boutique massage oils, created using 100% natural and organic products from Leicestershire and the formaldehyde-free SpaRitual nail polish range.

The flagship range is LA Dermatologist-Surgeon, Dr Murad’s eponymous cosmoseutical skincare products designed specifically to target dermatological problems including stretch marks, age spots and rosacea as well as modern day skin care concerns such as hormonal ageing and acne. In addition to the treatments, Dr Murad has a range of supplements and lifestyle books which will also be available at The Spa.

Guests will be encouraged to arrive at least an hour before their appointment to change into complimentary robes and slippers. Then they can relax and de-stress, to maximise the benefits of their treatment, in the stone oven sauna and the aromatic crystal steam room, tiled with white mother of pearl mosaics with black mother of pearl mosaic seating and a ceiling of twinkling lights. After the heat, “two experience showers” stimulate the senses.

In addition to the five treatment rooms The Spa features a mud room – a modern interpretation of the traditional Haman. Designed for two, this 45 minute ritual detoxifies, exfoliates, cleanses and relaxes using sea salt, Dead Sea mud and oils applied to each other in the Rasul chamber, following instructions from a therapist, with the option of adding chocolate to the treatment. Mucho Macho is designed with men in mind, but woman also like this two and a half hour blend of relaxing massage, deep cleansing and a boosting facial.

To melt away tension the massage menu includes traditional Swedish, Aroma, Hot Stone and a massage for two. Lympaney believes therapists should communicate with guests to ensure that pressure remains at the optimum level. Whether it is a mini massage for 30 minutes, or a Lazy Days combination of facials and body treatments to unwind, detox or celebrate, each treatment is discussed with the client and tailor made.

Following treatments guests can unwind in the relaxation room with complimentary refreshments including herbal teas and home made sorbets.

Fitness facilities at The Spa include a contra jet pool, allowing guests to set the water force to optimise the work out, whilst the gymnasium features the latest Technogym equipment, designed to ensure correct posture. A renowned personal trainer will be available for one to one work outs by prior appointment.

Radisson Edwardian Guildford Spa memberships are available at £60 per month, whilst use of The Spa is complimentary for hotel guests. The facilities will be open from Monday to Friday from 6.30am-9pm and at weekends from 8am-8pm, whilst treatments will be available from 10am-8pm and at weekends from 10am-6.30pm. Under 16s will not be permitted. For further information about The Spa at Radisson Edwardian Guildford call +44(0)207 769 4030 or email
