Press Room Home 13 May 2005 Radisson Edwardian launches new ad campaign

Luxury hotel group Radisson Edwardian is launching a new advertising campaign, featuring commissioned work by Jasper Goodall, one of the most respected illustrators in the fashion and music industries. The campaign, produced by WDPA, includes a series of six creatives, each reflecting the quality and style of different aspects of the Radisson Edwardian group.

Targeting the top end of the market, the campaign will run across national broadsheets and aspirational titles, such as Tatler and Vogue. The first ad in the series, a fashion led illustration of extreme scenarios taking place at the May Fair Hotel, is set to appear in The Telegraph Ultra Travel supplement on 14 May. Featuring a concierge keeping a couple cool with an oversized fan, the ad draws on the Radisson Edwardian philosophy of making guests feel special. A fashionista in the corner walks a crocodile, reflecting the history of the May Fair Hotel, which once included a crocodile pit in the hotel's bar. The illustration captures the May Fair hotel's trademark Baccarat chandelier and contemporary design.

Other ads in the series will feature the recently opened Manchester Free Trade Hall Hotel and the understated luxury of the reception areas, bedrooms and conferencing facilities across the whole group's collection of twelve luxury hotels in central London, Heathrow and Manchester. Linda Plant, Marketing Director at Radisson Edwardian, explains why Jasper Goodall was chosen for the campaign: "Those of us in the hospitality industry are often quite conservative with our advertising campaigns. Everything is beginning to look the same from hospitality to interiors: it's all based on beautiful photography." "These illustrated little vignettes easily draw the consumer into the ad, and with such attention to detail you can take a different story from each illustration every time you see it. It's been fantastic for us to have the opportunity to work with Jasper, who is so closely associated with cutting edge and contemporary culture."
