Our guide to shopping, eating and entertainment in Canary Wharf

Canary Wharf is a major business district in London, and contains many of the UK's tallest buildings, including the tallest, One Canada Square. It is also home to the world or European headquarters of numerous major banks, professional services firms and media organisations including Barclays, Citigroup, Clifford Chance, HSBC and Thomson Reuters.

Read our guide to find out what shops and restaurants/cafes you can expect to find when roaming around Canary Wharf. We have also suggested some great places to consider when deciding where to go for a meal.

Shopping in Canary Wharf

Canary Wharf has both underground and overground shopping. Canary wharf shopping centre is located underground and has over 200 shops-opening hours are from 9-7 (mon-wed), 9-8 (thur-fri), 10-6 (sat), 12-6 (sun). The shopping centre has mostly high street stores in it including Topshop, River Island and Boots but also has some high end stores including Ted Baker, Kurt Geiger (for the shoe lover) and Hugo Boss. Unfortunately there are not many unique boutique stores there; however there are a couple of tailors overground.

Entertainment and going out in Canary Wharf

 exanr

There is a cinema in West India Quay, Cineworld as well as a new one at the 02, they are both large and show all of the latest films.

You also have the Docklands Museum which is fascinating and makes for an excellent day out.

Canary Wharf also often hosts free events, especially in the summer – for example last summer there was a fabulous Brazilian festival, so keep your eyes open.

There are also loads of bars which are very popular in the week with corporate guests. West India Quay has some nice bars along the dock including Beluga's.
