Vertue, manufacturers of the UK’s best selling ‘green’ hotel beds has triumphed at the 2013 Considerate Hoteliers Awards, winning the title ‘Supplier Of The Year’ at a gala ceremony at the Landmark Hotel London.
The Supplier Of The Year Award is presented annually by the Considerate Hotelier Organisation to the supplier who is considered by the judges to have best met all the environmental needs and ethos of the nominating hospitality business. Vertue was nominated by Radisson Blu Edwardian Guildford hotel which opened in 2011 and has already achieved the Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold Award for sustainability.

The judging panel, comprising personalities from all sectors of the hotel and sustainability industries selected a shortlist of suppliers they believed most embodied eco-concerns within their products taking account of everything from sourcing, materials, sustainability and social responsibility, to value for money and quality of service. The judges finally chose VERTUE as the supplier that has it all – dedicated, ethical, and passionate when it comes to the environment, sustainability and social responsibility.

John Firrell MIH, Executive Director of Considerate Hoteliers and Chairman of the judging panel said, “The first priority of a decent hotel is to provide a comfortable bed. If it ticks all the environmental boxes then you have the perfect bed and VERTUE seems to have made a virtue out of producing that perfection”.
