Posted in Food & drink, Radisson Blu Edwardian, Manchester

The Pre Theatre Theatre Menu is the latest dining concept to launch at the stand-alone restaurant & bar, Opus One, located at the multi-award winning Radisson Blu Edwardian, Free Trade Hall Manchester hotel.

Steeped in theatrical history and with three theatres on its doorstep, the Radisson Blu Edwardian, Free Trade Hall is an ideal spot to meet for pre and post theatre dinner and drinks. Now Opus One has staged a special menu to tempt theatre goers; offering two courses and a drink for £20. And what’s even better, when the show is over guests can head back to Opus One for dessert and tea or coffee for just an extra £5.

The menu will comprise a selection of three starters, three mains and three desserts, which will change weekly according to the Opus One’s main Market Menu.

Starters include Cornish tea smoked mackerel with avocado and chive potato, and pressed chicken & leek terrine, plum and brand compote with chicken crackling and cinnamon toast.

Mains include pan fried Anglesey sea bass, Goosenargh chicken or butternut squash risotto and Cheshire Cheddar bon bons.

Diners can choose a glass of house wine, a beer or a soft drink.

For those returning after the show – stalls will be saved – iced milk chocolate and Malteser parfait, chocolate milk-shake and white chocolate marquise; set honey custard, meringue, honeycomb and cherry cream or Frangelico hazelnut panna cotta, caraway crème Anglaise ice cream and raspberry & black pepper coulis will be waiting!

The Pre Theatre Theatre menu is the latest of inspiring initiatives to launch at the hotel. Head Chef Matthew Downes, commented,

“Our passion is to create new and unique experiences for our guests. I have designed the menu to be interesting but not over-facing. There’s nothing worse than consuming a huge portion of food and then having to sit for all but three hours watching a play! With this food you will have something really exciting but in a manageable form thus ensuring a perfect evening all round. Well, I can’t promise the plays are all going to be great!”
