In this major exhibition, you will be taken on a journey back to AD79 to experience the bustling Roman streets, to step inside historic homes and to witness the devastation caused by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
This is the first ever exhibition focused on these cities at the British Museum and the first major display in London for nearly 40 years. With more than 250 objects, many of which have never been seen outside of Italy, the exhibition will give a unique insight into the lives of those who lived in these historic cities.
