Imagine a gigantic team of shining young talents with an average age of 16 and over three million hours of practice behind them, delivering exceptional musical performances full of verve, energy and passion…
…welcome to the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
Radisson Blu Edwardian is delighted to announce that the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain is now a charity partner of the group.
The National Youth Orchestra, like Radisson Blu Edwardian, brings innovation and style to tradition, always striving for excellence and quality.
For 64 years, the National Youth Orchestra has united Britain’s most talented and committed young musicians from diverse backgrounds across the country. The 165-strong orchestra meet for three residencies a year during which the teenagers rehearse, take part in creative projects and meet and inspire other young musicians.
NYO performs at least seven times a year in the country’s most prestigious concert halls, including an annual appearance at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall. At an NYO concert you experience the most vivacious and extraordinary performances, teamwork and sheer joy from 165 teenagers and there is nothing else in Britain that shows the talent and potential of today’s youth in this way.
‘A brilliant constellation of young stars who produce miracles.’ The Observer
NYO is not just a critically acclaimed orchestra which often surpasses the reviews of professional orchestras, it is a place where the best teenage musicians in the country learn from their peers, share their passion with others, and become motivated to achieve excellent things in all areas of their lives.
At a time when society is downcast about the ability of British teenagers to participate positively in civic life, NYO gives hope and inspiration, showing the nation what young people from diverse backgrounds can achieve through hard work and dedication.
‘A truly wonderful orchestra. A credit to Britain.’ The Guardian
‘We are delighted to be supporting the National Youth Orchestra and celebrating Britain’s most inspirational teenagers.’ Linda Plant, Director of Marketing, Radisson Blu Edwardian
‘ The National Youth Orchestra is something as a nation we can be proud of – and we at Radisson Blu Edwardian, London are incredibly proud to support them.’ Paul Mansi, COO, Radisson Blu Edwardian
