Our guide to a weekend in Soho 0
Posted in London reporterSoho is synonymous with the good times – from amazing London theatre shows, to London restaurants, bars and nightlife the list goes on and on. Nestled between Oxford Street and Shaftesbury Avenue, the Soho district is a stone’s throw from Radisson Edwardian Leicester Square, the Hampshire hotel in Leicester Square and Covent Garden’s Mountbatten hotel.
We could write thousands of words on all the different things you could do in Soho – it would be difficult to cover everything, so here’s a few foodie picks…
- Soho Theatre Bar
Whether you’re watching a play at the theatre or not, the Soho Theatre Bar welcomes you all day from 9am – plus if you are lucky enough to be going to see a performance there, just show your tickets at the bar and receive 10% off.
- Hix
Mark Hix is a legend in the food world and now he has just been voted ‘Best New Restaurant’ for his new venture on Brewer Street. Great atmosphere, fantastic food and service – what more do you need?
Aldo Zilli knows good food and his strictly vegetarian restaurant ‘Zilli Green’ is a big hit in Soho – don’t worry though if that’s too many vegetables for you, Zilli Bar is next door and Zilli Fish is just down the road, so there’s plenty to choose from.
- Yauatcha
This stunning Chinese teahouse serves contemporary dimsum and also has a shop where you can buy delicate chocolates and macaroons (all handmade) – no wonder they received a Michelin star within a year of opening.
- Bocca di Lupo
Vibrant and friendly, Bocca di Lupo describes itself as ‘The mouth of Italy in the heart of Soho’ and it’s got the critics raving about the fantastic Italian food served there. Salute!
