The Northwest Tourism Awards are in their seventh year now and still going strong showcasing the best of the region’s tourism in Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region and Cheshire. The winners also then go on to represent the region in the national awards in association with VisitEngland 2011.

Nick Brooks-Sykes, Director of Tourism at the Northwest Regional Development Agency spoke about this year’s winners:
“Tonight’s event has been very special and all our winners should be very proud of their achievements. Tourism in England’s Northwest is marked by a quality and passion that will continue in the future, making the region a destination of choice.”
The award was the icing on the cake for Manchester who have also been voted as Number 1 ‘Top Diner’ at Opus One restaurant on toptable.com - no easy task considering the sheer volume the outstanding eateries across the city. Well done team!
